¡¡¡¡Characteristics of acrylic resin:

¡¡¡¡Thermoplastic acrylic resin does not undergo further crosslinking during the film formation process, so its relative molecular weight is relatively high. It has good water and chemical resistance, light and color retention, fast drying, easy construction, and is easy to apply and rework. When preparing aluminum powder paint, the whiteness and positioning of aluminum powder are good. Thermoplastic acrylic resin is widely used in fields such as electrical appliances, automobiles, machinery, and construction.


¡¡¡¡Thermosetting acrylic resin refers to a network structure formed by reacting with functional groups in epoxy resin, amino resin, polyurethane, and other materials added during paint making, with certain functional groups in the structure. Thermosetting resin usually has a relatively low molecular weight. Thermosetting acrylic coatings have excellent gloss, fullness, hardness, solvent resistance, weather resistance, and do not change color or turn yellow when baked at high temperatures. It can be combined with amino resin to produce amino acrylic paint, which is currently widely used in products such as motorcycles, automobiles, bicycles, and coil steel.


¡¡¡¡Acrylic resin can be classified into:


¡¡¡¡1. Lotion polymerization is a reaction polymerization of monomer, initiator and distilled water. Generally, the resin is a lotion with 50% solid content and an emulsion solution with about 50% water. The synthesized lotion is generally milky white and bluish (Tyndall phenomenon), and the glass transition temperature is designed according to the FOX formula. Therefore, this type of lotion has large molecular weight, but its solid content is generally 40% -50%. The production industry requires precise control. Because of the use of water as the solvent, it is an environmentally friendly lotion.


¡¡¡¡2. Suspension polymerization is a relatively complex production process used as a method for producing solid resins. Solid acrylic resin is polymerized by reacting acrylic esters with methyl groups. Acrylic esters with methyl groups generally have certain functional groups, and their polymerization reaction in the reactor is difficult to control, making them prone to sticking and bursting. The process involves adding monomers, initiators, and additives into a reaction vessel and then reacting them with distilled water. After a certain period of time and temperature reaction, rinse with water, then dry, filter, etc. The production control of its products is relatively strict. If any intermediate step is not done properly, the resulting product will have a certain impact. Mainly reflected in the difference in color and molecular weight.


¡¡¡¡3. Ontology aggregation is a highly efficient production process. The process involves putting the raw materials into a special plastic film, reacting them into clumps, crushing them, and filtering them out. The solid acrylic resin produced by this method has the highest purity and the best product stability among all production methods, but it also has many disadvantages. Acrylic resin synthesized by bulk polymerization has weak solubility in solvents, and sometimes it is difficult to dissolve the same monomers in suspension polymerization with the same ratio. Moreover, the dispersibility of pigments is not as good as that of suspension polymerization acrylic resin.


¡¡¡¡4. Other polymerization methods involve solvent based reactions, where the solvent acts as an intermediate during the reaction and is removed from the solvent after passing through the reaction vessel.
